It was quite a simple day with the simple joys of eating three times a day, by God's providence and grace. It was another of those days where God worked his famous angelic repasse, when upon going to table for lunch, the table was empty then suddenly Romo Boedi invites me for lunch then after 20 minutes, I find myself in a hotel restaurant eating with other priests from the Diocese. I am reminded of the Gospel reading from Matthew where God who feeds the birds of the air and clothes the lilies of the field, likewise provides for his children.
Tonight, we and Romo Adrian and the aspirants watched "Invictus" a film about rugby and Nelson Mandela. It was quite a good and inspiring movie focusing on what a simple game can do to build a nation and how one man's philosophy of forgiveness changed the face of South Africa forever. Favorite line: I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul. Mandela could seek revenge and get the satisfaction of getting even with those who imprisoned him, but he chose to forgive, break the cycle of violence and started to influence a whole nation in his way of peaceful unification.
Just wanted to share some despedida pictures I had before coming to Surabaya. These were taken in a Korean Resto and Padi's point along Sumulong highway going to Antipolo.
