Hari ini Selasa, hari sebelum Rabu abu, Delapan Maret, Dua Ribu Sebelas

Today is the day before Ash Wednesday, and for many it is a day to celebrate Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday, eating richer and fatty food before the ritual fasting and abstinence for the lenten season. I celebrated by Mardi Gras by going to the mall and buying materials for our Teen's Catechism which will be launched this coming saturday at 4:00 pm. I was accompanied by Yudi, the parish secretary and Elson, a soon to be aspirant to our order. We went with Romo Adrian who had another meeting around that area, so he dropped us by Tunjunggan Plaza. We had this very thin and crunchy sort of fried crepe with thin slices of almond and cheese while we were in the parish car.

A funny thing happened to me when we were about to ride our blue colored car, I almost opened the door of the wrong car, which by the way is also blue. This is not the first time this happened, its actually the third time, and the two previous incidents happened in the Philippines. It was one of the Christmas evening masses in a subdivision in Tandang Sora, Quezon City. I proclaimed the Gospel and gave the homily, which by the way was relatively applauded by the people. Well anyway after the mass, while I was still wearing my habit, I opened the door and sat confidently in the front seat when suddenly a man knocked at the window. I thought that probably he will ask something or maybe comment about my homiliy, but to my surprise he told me: Father I think this is our car? I was so ashamed of myself, that I initially tried to explain that probably he was mistaken, but his wife open the other door and confirmed the truth that indeed I was in the wrong car. I immediately went off the car and apologized for my mistake.
